Updated 20 June 2026
These guides are a field guide for the near future. Practical advice about AI, written for teachers, parents, and communities. Guides assume you do not have experience or knowledge of AI, and try to provide the information you actually need to start using AI and understanding its impacts.
How to read these guides
Start anywhere. The guides are designed for you to drop in anywhere, so skim the sidebar to find the specific information you are looking for. If you don’t have a specific question or topic in mind, we recommend the 101 guide as a jumping off point.
Getting to know the language of AI
Because of the nature of the AI industry, the space is full of technical terms, marketing terms, and buzzwords. Some of these terms are quite pointless. However, you are likely to encounter them in news articles, conversations with parents and students, and whenever you use AI platforms.
To keep up to speed, we keep a glossary of terms. Whenever our guides use this industry-specific language, you can hover or tap on the word for a quick definition.
